Design notes

Our reading is that Maular makes a high curve a deckbuilding commitment rather than just a collection of finishers. The permission broadens the large-creature choices, but the attack reward still asks the deck to turn those choices into combat. We would prioritize a reliable route to those creatures and a reason for each inclusion, rather than assume that access to more large creatures solves the list by itself.

Deckbuilding priorities

We would choose large creatures for the jobs they perform before filling the list with extra finishers. Avacyn, Angel of Hope is an eight-mana white creature that gives your other permanents indestructible, so Maular's exception admits a protective payoff outside green. Vilis, Broker of Blood is an eight-mana black creature that draws cards when you lose life, offering a different eligible payoff rather than another body with the same job.
