Design notes

Our reading is that Seluma asks for loyalty to a creature theme instead of loyalty to a single color. Opening the Angel slot makes that theme the organizing principle, while the combat reward gives the deck a reason to put its commander at risk. We would build around a coherent Angel plan rather than treat the extra colors as permission to collect unrelated powerful cards.

Deckbuilding priorities

We would start with Angels whose off-color abilities justify Seluma's exception. Angel of Despair is a white-black Angel that can destroy a permanent when it enters, so it is both an eligible inclusion and a useful recovery target for Seluma. Aurelia, the Warleader is a red-white Angel whose first attack each turn can produce an additional combat, giving Seluma another opportunity to connect. We would support those Angels with a mana base that can cast them and a combat plan that makes recovery realistic, rather than add off-color non-Angels the exception does not permit.
